4 pieces of construction paper, assorted colors
1 piece of brown construction paper, cut lengthwise into a 2- to 3-inch-wide strip.

Glue sticks
Cut the 4 pieces of construction paper in the shape of a hot air balloon.
Fold each shape in half.
Fold a long piece of string (about 4-feet in length) 4 times over.
Glue the string in the center of the balloon, leaving about 3- to 4-inches in length at the bottom and about 8-inches in length at the top.
Tie a knot in the end of the string at the top.
Glue each color of the balloon on top of the string in the center of the fold.
Roll the brown construction paper into a basket-shape and glue together.
Glue the 4 pieces of string at the bottom of the balloon to the inside of the basket.
Alternatively, you could use a toilet paper roll for the balloon basket.
